The trip for Grades 4 to 7 that was postponed twice due to bad weather is now scheduled on Wednesday, December 20. The destination changed to Al-Shallal due to availability.

Students photo sessions will continue tomorrow for the sections who haven't yet had their turn. Make sure your child is wearing the school uniform to be able to participate in the photoshoot.

The school is taking you on a day trip from 9:30 AM to 1:30 PM on Wednesday, December 6 from 9:30 to Effat University to attend the Pop-Up Film School. The event will feature interactive workshops and will discuss different cinematic skills: photography, lighting, cartoons, sound, fashion, and makeup. The students will leave from and return to school with school buses. 

Dear Grades 4 to 6 Boys: Students photo sessions are scheduled on December 6 and 7 (Wednesday and Thursday). Make sure your child is wearing the school uniform to be able to participate in the photoshoot.

Our trip to Tek Zone for Grades 4 to 7 and our sports event for Grades 8 to 12 that were both scheduled on the same day on term 1 are now scheduled for Tuesday, December 12, 2023.

The afternoon STEAM club will not start tomorrow as registration is still not enough to open classes and some parents requested to postpone the registration deadline.
The new deadline is December 7 and the new start date is December 11.

Chemistry Grades 9 to 12 and Saudi Culture Exams Grades 4 to 8 final exams of term 1 will be done this Thursday, November 30.

Marks are now available on the system. Note that Wednesday's exams (Saudi Culture 4 to 8 and Chemistry 9 to 12) are still out of 20. Marks will be updated once exams are done.

1. How to Sign In to IXL Using School Google Emails:

• Start by visiting the IXL website: https://www.ixl.com/signin/zsis
• Click on the “Sign in” button located at the top right corner of the page.
• Instead of entering a username and password, click on the “Sign in with Google” option.
• When prompted, enter the student's school Google email address (e.g., 20180101@zsi.sch.sa) and the associated password.

2. Using IXL at Home:

IXL is a fantastic tool that can be used at home to reinforce what students learn at school:

• Practice Skills: Once logged in, students can select their grade level and topic of interest to practice a wide variety of skills.
• Watch Videos: For most skills, there is an accompanying instructional video. This can be especially helpful if a student is struggling with a particular topic. To access the video, click on the skill and look for the video icon. Play the video for a step-by-step explanation.
• Track Progress: Students can track their progress and see how they’re improving over time. The “Analytics” tab provides insights into time spent, skills practiced, and scores achieved.

3. Accessing Homework on Google Classroom:
To ensure a seamless learning experience, homework assignments related to IXL may also be posted on Google Classroom.

• Visit https://classroom.google.com/ and sign in using the school Google email.
• Once logged in, look for the class where the homework has been assigned.
• Any IXL-related assignments will have direct links to the IXL platform, making it easy for students to start practicing right away.

Dear Parents,

This is a reminder that Grades 4 to 12 this Thursday will have extra support classes for selected students from 1 to 2 PM.

There will be no activity, so all students not in the extra support classes will be dismissed at 1 PM.

Grades 1 to 3 will have extra support classes, as usual, for selected students. All other students in Grades 1 to 3 may be dismissed at 12:45 PM.

We wanted to inform you about an important assessment that your child will be undertaking starting next week.

Details of the Assessment:
Tests: Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) in Reading, Language, and Math.
Duration: Each test will be approximately 20 minutes long.
Location: All tests will be conducted in the school's computer lab.

Additional Information:
There is no specific preparation needed for these tests.
While there is no need for additional study or stress, we do ask that you encourage your child to take the test seriously. Their dedication and focus during the test can make a difference.
The results of these tests will have an impact on their English and Math marks, so it's important for students to give their best effort.

We believe that our students will excel if they approach the tests with a positive and serious attitude. We want to ensure that every child is given the opportunity to showcase their abilities and progress in these subjects.

Grades 4 to 12

This Thursday, September 14, and next Thursday, September 21 we will be giving extra support sessions to selected students based on their performance last year and their entrance exam results. Those classes will cover basics that will help our students reach their class level and perform well in their assessments.
Students and parents who are chosen to attend the extra support sessions will be informed this week.
Note that the extra sessions are from 1 PM to 2 PM and all other students will be dismissed at 1 PM.

Thursday, September 28, Grades 4 to 12 are asked to stay at school until 2 PM to celebrate the Saudi National Day with us!

Grades 1 to 3
Students will always have support sessions every Thursday from 1 to 2 PM.
Students who are not asked to stay for extra support session will be dismissed at 12:45 PM.

We will keep you informed about our Thursdays early on.

Hello K Families, Wednesday & Thursday (30 & 31 August) are the first days of school for kids to settle in their classrooms. On these days school is from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM.

The orientation session for Grade 1 mothers will be on Tuesday, August 29 from 9:30 to 10:30.
